Make a Commercial Script for the Pillow Box Product
Independent Assignment
Create the script in your weebly for a commercial for Pillow Box Product. A commercial is usually 1 to 2 minutes long. Use the same format as the radio ad you deciphered from the binder. Include the Length, Target Demographic, Character/Narrator, Suggested Music and Suggested Sound Effects plus the actual script that will be aired.
Use the 2 column script format. Use at least 5 camera angles from the youtube video given. Ensure you list them in the script.
Again, this commercial needs to have a "WOW" factor. It cannot be an infomercial. You need something fresh and strange to capture the viewers attention. Anything odd, cute, humorous, an iconic type character, the catchy jingle all help to keep the viewer watching.
Just be aware that you may be filming this one and therefore you should consider the limitations in background setting, characters and costumes.
The Commercial rubric is below as a reference for what you will need for the actual commercial you film.
1. Type out "TITLE:", "LENGTH:", "PRODUCT:", and "WRITER:" at the top of the page, left-aligned. Each word should be on its own line, single spaced.
2. Make two columns below the title and length information. You might wish to make a table with two columns and two rows. In the first column, first row, type "VIDEO." In the second column, first row, type "AUDIO."
3. Number each description in the "VIDEO" column, starting with the first video to appear on screen. Type the descriptions for video in all capital letters.
4. Type out the accompanying audio in the second column, next to the appropriate video description. Use sentence-case for the audio. Type the name of the character speaking next to his text, and use a colon between the character's name and his text.
5. Type "SOUND" or "SFX" to describe any sound effects in the audio column. Use all capital letters when writing out sound effects. Type "MUSIC" before describing any music. Use all capital letters and underline when writing out music descriptions.
Use the colour highlighters or different coloured fonts in your Weebly to highlight the parts of the commercial. The parts are
1. Mention the Product
2. Offer
3. Discuss Benefits
4. Call to Action
5. Suggested music and sound effects
6. Show your brand (not product) at least 3 times (helps to plant the brand in the consumers mind)
